I noticed that Azure App Service customers span an incredibly wide range of industries, but they share a common thread: they're established organizations delivering services or products that require digital infrastructure. These aren't typically pure tech companies building SaaS products. Instead, I'm seeing healthcare providers like Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Florida Cancer Specialists, financial institutions like Liberty Bank and Chevron Federal Credit Union, restaurant groups like The Big Table Group operating Bella Italia and Las Iguanas, retailers like RaceTrac and Chemist Discount Centre, and traditional enterprises like Arla Foods and Mannington Commercial. They're running operations that serve real customers in physical locations, supported by digital systems.

These are predominantly mature, stable organizations. The employee counts tell the story: many have 200 to 5,000+ employees, with some like Arla Foods employing over 14,000. I'm seeing companies with 30, 40, even 160 years of history. Very few show recent funding rounds, and those that do are typically grants or debt financing rather than venture capital. This signals profitability and operational maturity rather than rapid scaling.
