The day-to-day users span an incredibly diverse range, from executive support staff managing Teams Rooms and live events to collaboration engineers maintaining tenant configurations and security policies. I noticed that Microsoft Teams Platform users span a remarkably wide range, but they share a common thread: they're building technology that connects people, systems, or data. These aren't consumer apps. They're creating observability platforms, security tools, data management systems, DevOps solutions, and enterprise collaboration software. Many are in the infrastructure layer, building the tools that help other companies run their operations. Think incident management, cloud cost optimization, API security, data quality platforms, and ITSM solutions.

The maturity levels vary dramatically. I'm seeing seed-stage startups with 15 employees sitting alongside publicly traded giants with 200,000 plus employees. The funding spectrum runs from bootstrapped companies with no disclosed funding to Series J rounds in the billions. However, the middle dominates. Most are Series A through C companies with 50 to 500 employees, already serving hundreds or thousands of customers and actively scaling their go-to-market motion.

I noticed that companies using Microsoft Teams Platform tend to be B2B software and SaaS companies with sophisticated sales operations. The presence of tools like Clari, Mindtickle, and Common Room tells me these are revenue-focused organizations that invest heavily in sales enablement and customer relationship intelligence. They're building collaboration features into their products while running complex sales motions themselves.

The pairing of Microsoft Teams Platform with Terraform is particularly telling. These companies are running modern cloud infrastructure with infrastructure-as-code practices, which suggests they're technically mature organizations building enterprise-grade products. They're likely integrating collaboration features directly into their platforms for customers who already live in Teams. The combination with Common Room indicates they're tracking customer engagement across multiple touchpoints and want to meet users where they already work.

The correlation with Mindtickle and Clari reveals a strong sales-led approach. Mindtickle handles sales training and readiness, while Clari manages revenue forecasting and pipeline health. These aren't cheap tools, so we're looking at companies with substantial sales teams who need to ramp reps quickly and predict revenue accurately. The presence of Common Room alongside these sales tools suggests they're using community and product engagement signals to inform their sales strategy.
