Companies that use G2

My analysis shows that G2 buyers span marketing leadership (12% Product Marketing Directors, 8% VP Marketing, 6% Growth Marketing Heads) and revenue-focused executives (9% Customer Success Directors, 7% Sales Directors). These leaders are hiring for competitive intelligence, demand generation, and customer advocacy roles. Their strategic priorities center on demonstrating market leadership, converting pipeline to revenue, and building credibility through third-party validation. Multiple postings emphasize being recognized as a G2 Leader or achieving high ratings as proof points of product excellence.

Day-to-day users include customer success teams mining reviews for testimonials and case studies, product marketers building competitive battle cards and positioning materials, and demand generation specialists using G2 badges in campaigns. Growth marketing teams reference G2 placements alongside paid channels like LinkedIn and Google, treating review site visibility as a core demand driver. Several roles explicitly mention tracking G2 scores as performance metrics, suggesting ongoing monitoring and optimization workflows.

The underlying pain points reveal companies using G2 as both a differentiator and a growth lever. Phrases like "customers average 1,200% ROI and a 4.9 rating on G2" and "named a Leader by G2 for the fifth consecutive year" show organizations weaponizing their rankings for sales enablement. Another posting states they are "the only platform rated 5 stars" and uses this claim to attract talent. Companies treat G2 status as shorthand for product-market fit and competitive superiority, making it central to their go-to-market narrative.

I noticed that G2's typical customer operates in the software and technology sector, but with a very specific profile. These are companies that build enterprise software platforms, SaaS products, or technology infrastructure. They create solutions for other businesses, whether that's cybersecurity tools, financial management platforms, ERP systems, marketing automation, or payment processing. A significant subset also serves vertical-specific needs like real estate management, construction, or public sector administration. These aren't consumer apps or hardware manufacturers. They're B2B technology companies selling software solutions to other enterprises.

These companies span the full spectrum of business maturity, but most sit in the growth-to-mature range. I see Series B through Series F funding rounds, plenty of private equity and secondary market transactions, and several post-IPO entities. Employee counts cluster heavily in the 1,000 to 5,000 range, though some reach 10,000 plus. The combination of substantial funding history, four-digit employee counts, and established customer bases suggests these are scaling or scaled companies, not early startups.

I noticed that companies using G2 are distinctly product-focused B2B SaaS businesses with sophisticated go-to-market operations. The presence of tools like Intercom, Linear, and Sentry tells me these are teams that treat their product as a primary growth driver while maintaining strong customer communication channels. They're not just listing on G2 as a passive directory play. They're actively managing their reputation as part of a broader product-led strategy.

The pairing of Intercom with G2 makes perfect sense because both tools serve companies that want prospects to self-educate and convert with minimal sales friction. These companies use G2 reviews to build trust at the top of funnel, then guide qualified leads into Intercom conversations. The strong showing of Amplitude alongside G2 is equally revealing. These companies are data-driven about understanding user behavior and conversion patterns, so naturally they'd take the same analytical approach to tracking how G2 influences their pipeline. Linear's presence suggests fast-moving product teams that prioritize customer feedback, which aligns perfectly with actively soliciting and responding to G2 reviews.

The full stack screams product-led growth with strong marketing support. These companies have the engineering sophistication (Sentry, Vercel) to ship quality products quickly, the analytics discipline (Amplitude) to measure what's working, and the customer communication infrastructure (Intercom) to convert interest into revenue. They're likely growth-stage startups or scale-ups, past the earliest phases but still optimizing aggressively for efficiency.
