I noticed that Sophos Firewall and VPN users span an incredibly diverse range of physical operations. These aren't purely digital companies. They're manufacturing facilities making everything from instant noodles to medical devices, construction firms building infrastructure, healthcare providers running hospitals and clinics, food service operations, logistics companies, educational institutions, and even ski resorts. What unites them is that they all have tangible, physical operations that need protecting, whether that's factory equipment, patient data, or operational systems across multiple locations.

These are predominantly mature, established enterprises. The employee counts cluster between 50 and 500, with many specifically in the -300 range. Several explicitly mention their founding dates from the 1940s through 1990s. Very few show recent funding rounds, and when they do, it's modest seed funding rather than large venture capital. The language they use reinforces this maturity: they talk about "years of experience," "generations," and "legacy" rather than disruption or hypergrowth.
