I noticed Alta's customers span an incredibly diverse range of industries, but they share a common thread: they're building or selling specialized B2B solutions. These aren't consumer brands. They're companies providing SaaS platforms for niche problems (claims management, scholarship administration, inventory tracking), professional services (recruitment, business consulting, IT services), manufacturing solutions (digital signage players, packaging, garment production), and infrastructure for other businesses (cloud kitchens, 3PL services, payment processing). Many are technology enablers or service providers sitting between their clients and their clients' customers.

The size distribution is telling. Most fall into the 11-200 employee range, with employee counts clustering around 50-. Many show no recent funding or are bootstrapped, suggesting they're past the scrappy startup phase but haven't scaled to enterprise size. Those with funding typically show Series A through Series C rounds in the $2-10M range, nothing massive. These are established companies with proven business models, not moonshots.
