I noticed that Ploy's typical customers are building AI-native products and services, often positioning themselves as automation layers that sit between traditional workflows and modern AI capabilities. They're not just using AI as a feature but fundamentally reimagining how work gets done in specific verticals. I see lots of B2B software companies tackling unsexy but critical problems like order entry (Ordermatic, Smartbase), medical billing (Taiga, Lavender Health), compliance workflows (Bretton AI, Auxilius), and production coordination (makea, Saudara AI).

These are overwhelmingly early-stage companies. I count at least 10 Y Combinator-backed startups, many explicitly noting their batch (P26, S26). Employee counts cluster heavily in the 2-10 range, with most funding stages listed as Seed, Pre-seed, or blank. Even companies with slightly larger headcounts (11-50) show characteristics of recent vintage, like rebrands (Coforix) or first-time funding rounds. The few exceptions with more employees tend to be bootstrapped service businesses or older non-tech companies.
