I noticed that Greptile's users fall into two distinct camps. The first is developer tools companies building infrastructure for other developers: platforms for observability (SigNoz, PostHog), authentication (SuperTokens, Pomerium), payments (Relay), and AI development (Reflex, Sim, Respan). The second camp is surprisingly broad, ranging from food manufacturers in Germany to municipal governments in Turkey to small IT consultancies across Europe. What unites them is that they all have codebases to maintain, even if software isn't their core product.

The stage split is stark. Among the tech companies, I see a cluster of well-funded early-stage startups (multiple Y Combinator companies, several seed and Series A rounds between $3M and $35M) alongside a long tail of mature or bootstrapped players. PostHog raised $75M Series E. Streamlit hit Series B. But then there's Thunderbird with 20 million users, small consulting shops with 1-2 employees, and a German food manufacturer from 1899. The non-tech companies appear to be stable, established businesses maintaining legacy systems.
